Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Lawrence (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by crank that soldier boy. Kevin Lawrence is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Lawrence!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawrence gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Davis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jay Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lawrence shoots in looking for a takedown but Davis manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lawrence's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Davis moves to clinch but Lawrence breaks away

and Lawrence decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Davis's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Davis wants to get back to his feet but Lawrence is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Davis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lawrence controls the pace.
Davis is looking to stand up but Lawrence isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Davis wriggles free and stands up.
Davis buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Davis lands a right hook to the body.
Davis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Lawrence counters with a takedown into side control.
Davis is trying to get back to his feet.

Let's hope that Lawrence has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kevin Lawrence wasn't active enough on the ground.
Lawrence shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Davis defends it nicely.
Jay Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Lawrence.

Lawrence not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jay Davis.
Davis keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin Lawrence dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Davis lands a nice hook to Lawrence's body. Lawrence takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Lawrence closes this distance looking for a takedown but Davis circles away.
Jay Davis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Davis scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Lawrence is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Davis's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Davis's back!

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Davis trying to get back to his feet but Lawrence is in full control for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jay Davis will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Lawrence drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Lawrence controlling the position well here. Davis rolled but Lawrence kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Well, with Lawrence on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Davis is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Davis is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Lawrence.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Davis controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Kevin Lawrence comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Lawrence has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
