Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Osvalde Ovale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mihail Fedorov!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fedorov shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ovale is trying to defend but Fedorov finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fedorov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Fedorov lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Fedorov prevents Ovale from improving his position.
Ovale trying to hold on to Fedorov's head to control him but Fedorov postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fedorov is keen to just control but Ovale is a slippery customer.
Ovale knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fedorov on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Osvalde Ovale just wasn't active enough.
Ovale closes the distance but Fedorov moves to the side

and Fedorov counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Fedorov.

Ovale is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fedorov is controlling him.
Ovale controls Fedorov momentarily but Fedorov frees himself.
Fedorov passes Ovale's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Fedorov looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fedorov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ovale keeps working.

Fedorov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Fedorov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ovale does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ovale looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ovale is breathing heavily.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Fedorov is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ovale wants to control but Fedorov is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Fedorov uses his free foot to push down on Ovale's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ovale.

Fedorov is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Ovale is forced to tap! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mihail Fedorov!
