The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Boss has his takedown stuffed
and Calhoun counters with a nice uppercut.
Calhoun throws a head kick that misses.
Calhoun circles away from the clinch attempt.
The Boss moves out of range of the body kick.
Calhoun shoots in for a takedown but The Boss shows good takedown defense.

and The Boss decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Calhoun's guard.
The Boss throws a big right hand that misses.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The Boss pushes down on Calhoun's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Calhoun moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Calhoun pulls The Boss in close to his closed guard and prevents The Boss from doing any damage or advancing position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jarvis Calhoun wasn't doing enough on the ground.
The Boss takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
The Boss has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Calhoun.

Calhoun throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. The Boss was covering up waiting for the punch and Calhoun finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The Boss wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Calhoun manages to pass to side control.
The Boss is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Calhoun lands a nice short elbow.
Calhoun wants to take a breather but The Boss is having none of it.

Calhoun is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. The Boss can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Calhoun wants to lay and pray for a moment but The Boss keeps working.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
