Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Bernie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Rua will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bernie tries to close the distance and clinch but Rua swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bernie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Rua counters with a nice uppercut.
Rua throws a looping overhand right but Bernie ducks down to avoid it.
Rua throws a poor cross that misses
and Bernie counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Bernie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bernie throws a big right hand that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rua can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bernie looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Bernie is looking for a kimura but Rua is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bernie to get the leverage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Rua is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bernie is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Bernie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rua knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Bernie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rua keeps working.
Bernie works his way into side control.

Bernie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rua knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Rua tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Rua is trying to control Bernie's posture but Bernie avoids it.
Bernie advances to full mount.
Bernie is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rua has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rua!
Rua wants to control from the top but Bernie keeps moving.

Bernie keeping moving, preventing Rua from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Rua misses with a shot to the body
and Bernie counters with a slapping leg kick.
Rua misses with a double jab
and Bernie counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rua's guard now.
Bernie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rua manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bernie has Rua in his guard.
Rua stays in close to Bernie's body and controls the position.
Bernie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rua doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rua manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bernie tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rua has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Bernie to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Rua is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Bernie pulls down on the head and he's put Rua to sleep! This one is all over!
