Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andrew Dinero!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stan Marsh!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dinero ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Marsh moves away.
Dinero shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Dinero takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Dinero misses the shot to the body.
Dinero misses the shot to the body.

Dinero throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Marsh tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dinero is in Marsh's guard.
Dinero is pushing down on Marsh's leg trying to pass to half guard. Marsh is fighting to maintain full guard but Dinero has managed to sneak the leg through.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Marsh can do anything to dispel that myth.
Dinero tries to pass to full mount but Marsh defends it.

Dinero is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Marsh defends it well.
Dinero is looking to advance position but Marsh won't allow it.

Dinero is working for a kimura but Marsh is defending it quite comfortably.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marsh pushes Dinero off looking to stand but Dinero dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dinero passes to side control.

Dinero thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Dinero wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Marsh, who protects the arm well.
Marsh stops Dinero from passing to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Dinero is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Marsh has escaped the position, nice work there.
Dinero trying to control the action but Marsh is working from the bottom.
Dinero tries to move into full mount but can't pass Marsh's legs.
Marsh pushes Dinero away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Dinero gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Marsh regains half guard there - taking advantage of Dinero's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Dinero works his way into full mount!

Dinero has hold of Marsh's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Marsh manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Dinero is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Dinero extends the arm and Marsh is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Andrew Dinero!
