Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Pulson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edwin Meadows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meadows has chosen Punky's Whips as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Edwin Meadows was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edwin Meadows!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Anthony Taglia and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pulson.
Meadows throws a series of punches but Pulson avoids them all with ease.
Pulson looks for a takedown but Meadows sprawls well.
Meadows fails with an attempt to clinch.
Meadows swinging wilding here.
Horrible takedown by Pulson or perhaps it was just good defense by Meadows which made him look bad.

Pulson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Pulson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Meadows is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Pulson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pulson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Meadows manages to reverse the position and now he's in Pulson's guard. Nice work there by Meadows.
Meadows really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pulson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Meadows stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pulson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Meadows must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Pulson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Meadows is staying active underneath Pulson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Pulson is really struggling to control Meadows but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Meadows lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pulson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
