Vera has chosen Black Eyed Peas: The APL Song as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Brandon Vera enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zagorno throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vera was covering up waiting for the punch and Zagorno finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Vera keeping moving, preventing Zagorno from controlling successfully.
Vera is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Zagorno working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zagorno throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vera works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Zagorno controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Zagorno thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Zagorno prevents Vera from getting back to his feet.

Vera utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Zagorno is trying to work for a kimura but Vera is defending well.
Zagorno content to control rather than advance.
Zagorno is stalling here. Vera is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Zagorno seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Vera has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Vera is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Zagorno is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Vera's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Zagorno is really struggling to control Vera but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Vera wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Zagorno's closed guard. He's half up but Zagorno has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Zagorno pivots and extends the arm, Vera falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Zagorno! Well done that man!
