O Leary comes to the cage accompanied by one day like this. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Higgins gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and O Leary counters with a nice uppercut.
O Leary takes a swing at Higgins's ribcage but misses.
Higgins looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
O Leary will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Higgins shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and O Leary counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

and O Leary counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Larry O Leary has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Higgins.

and O Leary counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

O Leary ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
O Leary connects with a nice looking jab.
O Leary lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like John Higgins has been cut.
Higgins on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
O Leary fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Higgins has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from O Leary finds it's way round the side to connect with Higgins's head.
Donk. O Leary catches Higgins right on the button with a cross.
O Leary connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Higgins is rocked!
O Leary lands a nice hook to Higgins's body. Higgins takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
O Leary dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

O Leary stuns Higgins with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

O Leary cracks Higgins with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
O Leary comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

O Leary throws a left that rocks Higgins and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! O Leary dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Higgins regain composure!
Higgins is still in real trouble! Can O Leary finish him?
O Leary scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Higgins is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and O Leary can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
