Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ty Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darnell Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turner comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I'm Sailing Away kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Walker to counter with a crisp jab.

Walker gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Walker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Walker controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Walker seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Turner for as long as he can get away with.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ty Walker.

and Walker counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Ty Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darnell Turner.

Walker looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Turner with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Walker has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Walker lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Walker is nestled in close to Turner, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Turner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Walker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Walker shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Turner is trying to defend but Walker finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Turner has hold of Walker's hands but Walker slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Turner is looking to get back to full guard here but Walker has managed to pass to side control instead.

Walker shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Turner manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Walker decides to stand up, so the ref orders Turner to his feet.

Walker decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Walker seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Walker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ty Walker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Walker seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Walker throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Turner was covering up waiting for the punch and Walker finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Walker cracks Turner with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Darnell Turner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Turner is trying to escape the position but Walker is controlling the position.
Walker has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Turner!

Walker takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Walker lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Walker lands a big shot there that rocks Turner but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Turner tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Walker lands with some strikes.
BOOM! Walker connects with a massive shot to the dome!
