Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Igor Filipovich Petruhin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred DiBiase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fred DiBiase has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Filipovich Petruhin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fred DiBiase!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petruhin takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
DiBiase misses with a hook.

Petruhin tries to free his leg and advance position but DiBiase is retaining full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Petruhin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Igor Filipovich Petruhin wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Petruhin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, DiBiase has escaped the position, nice work there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
DiBiase is not content to let Petruhin control the position.
DiBiase tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Petruhin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


DiBiase displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Petruhin.

DiBiase lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Petruhin at a distance.
DiBiase goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

DiBiase throws a chopping leg kick but Petruhin manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
DiBiase fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Petruhin manages to avoid it.

and Petruhin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in DiBiase's guard now.

DiBiase might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Petruhin kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

DiBiase throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

DiBiase drives through and clinches with Petruhin against the cage.

DiBiase struggles to land a body shot inside as Petruhin controls his hands.
DiBiase lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Petruhin is trying to stall.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from DiBiase.
DiBiase lands a shoulder strike.
Petruhin tries for a takedown. No joy.
DiBiase lands a hook to the side of the head.
DiBiase lands a body punch in the clinch.
DiBiase is pressed up against the cage. Petruhin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag DiBiase down to the mat. DiBiase avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Petruhin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts DiBiase, as that shot connected.
Petruhin staying out of range there.
Petruhin shoots in for a double leg but DiBiase sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Petruhin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as DiBiase throws out the jab.
Igor Filipovich Petruhin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
DiBiase tries to clinch but Petruhin moves out of range.
DiBiase throws a half hearted mid kick.
A jab from DiBiase finds it's way through Petruhin's defenses.
DiBiase throws a leg kick but Petruhin checks it.
DiBiase is looking to score with low kicks.
DiBiase scores with a kick to the midsection.

DiBiase has closed the distance and engaged Petruhin in a clinch.
DiBiase misses with a short punch on the inside.
DiBiase scores with a shoulder strike.
DiBiase has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Petruhin has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. DiBiase avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Fred DiBiase has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Igor Filipovich Petruhin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
DiBiase lands a right hand that snaps the head of Petruhin backwards.
