Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomasz Adamek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adamek is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by KSW. Dave Summers could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tomasz Adamek's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Summers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tomasz Adamek!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adamek shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Summers counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Summers is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Adamek's half guard.
Summers passes the guard and advances to mount!
Adamek is working to get back to half guard.
Summers takes Adamek's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Adamek is in trouble.
Summers has the hooks in. Adamek is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Summers keeps control of the position easily here as Adamek tries to buck him off.

Adamek is in a bad position with Summers working for a choke. Adamek manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
Adamek stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Summers swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Summers is working an open guard so Adamek takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Adamek lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Summers circles away quickly and effectively.
Summers fails with a takedown attempt.

and Adamek finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Summers gets caught flat footed, as Adamek shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Summers not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Summers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Summers is breathing heavily.
Adamek looking to sit in guard and control but Summers gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Adamek is on top in guard.

Summers scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Summers has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Adamek!
Summers connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Summers shoots and misses

and Adamek counters with a shoot takedown. Summers fights it but they end up in guard.


It looks like Tomasz Adamek has been cut.

Summers has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Adamek is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Summers.
Summers is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Adamek wants to lay and pray for a moment but Summers keeps working.
Adamek passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Summers!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Summers tries to buck Adamek off but he can't manage it.

Adamek with shots to the head and body - Summers looks very uncomfortable down there.
Adamek should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Tomasz Adamek has got the better of the ground game so far.

Adamek is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Summers has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Summers!

Summers wants to control from the top but Adamek keeps moving.
Adamek can't keep his opponent in guard - Summers advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Adamek moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Summers trying to control but Adamek is working from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Adamek is on top in guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Summers wants to control the position but Adamek says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Adamek is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Summers defends it well.
Adamek wants to pass to mount but Summers is defending the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tomasz Adamek showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

and Summers counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Summers wants to pass the guard but Adamek is keeping the position.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Adamek is trying to keep Summers in close.

Adamek decides to stand back up.

Adamek shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Summers is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Tomasz Adamek comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Adamek has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
