Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hu Rah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamie Gillis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rah's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Flogging Molly - Devil's Dance Floor. Gillis has chosen I Don't Feel Like Dancing - Scissor Sisters as his entrance music. Hu Rah could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jamie Gillis's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hu Rah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jamie Gillis!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rah fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Gillis is out of range.

Rah gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gillis to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Gillis trying to control but Rah is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gillis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rah works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rah wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Gillis is now in half guard.
Gillis not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Gillis scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Rah is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Gillis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rah with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Rah is staying active underneath Gillis, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Gillis lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Gillis is thwarting Rah's attempts to control the position.

Gillis takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Rah has hold of Gillis's hands but Gillis slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Gillis prevents Rah from improving his position.
Rah is trying to maintain the position but Gillis is very close to passing his half guard.
Rah keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Gillis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rah's head.
Rah avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gillis.
Gillis is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Rah is looking for a sweep. Gillis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rah is working hard here to advance position.
Gillis wants to control but Rah is keeping him busy.
Rah wants to get back to full guard.
Gillis is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Rah blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gillis.
Gillis thows a huge punch but Rah dodges it nicely.
Gillis prevents Rah from improving his position.
Rah wants to get back to full guard but Gillis has mounted him!

It looks like Hu Rah has been cut.

Rah is in all sorts of trouble here.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rah keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gillis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Gillis working for a submission but Rah is keeping him at bay.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Hu Rah's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Rah tests Gillis's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Rah misses with a straight left.
Good standup being displayed there by Gillis as he connects with a hook.


Hu Rah's cut is getting worse.
Gillis misses with an uppercut
and Rah cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rah misses with a hook.
Rah blocks a jab.

Gillis misses with a left hand
and Rah counters with a straight right hand.
Rah bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Rah throws an off balance right hand
letting Gillis counter with a right hand.
Rah rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Gillis counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gillis.

Gillis throws and elbow that misses. Rah uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gillis's guard. Nice move by Rah!

Rah drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gillis dives on top into guard.
Gillis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Rah manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gillis manages to get himself to full guard.
Gillis is controlling Rah's posture.
Gillis lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rah!

Hu Rah's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Hu Rah's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
