Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ritchie Blackmore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Blackmore might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sometimes My Opponent Feels Like Screaming. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ritchie Blackmore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Jones!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Blackmore moves away.

Blackmore fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones, pushing him back against the cage.
Blackmore changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jones fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Jones throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Blackmore tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jones is in Blackmore's guard.
Jones engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blackmore swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jones pushes down on Blackmore's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Jones is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Blackmore has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Blackmore is desperately trying to improve his position but Jones has a good base and remains in mount.

Jones is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Blackmore sees it coming and defends easily.
Blackmore wants to control but Jones is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Blackmore doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Blackmore controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Blackmore is on top in guard.
Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Blackmore drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Blackmore off! Blackmore jumps back into Jones's guard.
Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Jones controlling the position.
Blackmore sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones's guard.

Blackmore is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Jones is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Blackmore's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Blackmore's back!
Well, with Jones on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Blackmore is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Blackmore is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Jones gets his way!

and Jones counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Blackmore!

Blackmore's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
