The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esteves tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Liddel throws out a loose jab but Esteves uses good head movement to avoid it.
Liddel thows a body shot but no joy.
Esteves throws a front kick aimed at Liddel's knee but Liddel avoids it well.

Esteves dives in and grabs Liddel's left leg, looking for a takedown. Liddel pushes down on Esteves's head and hops out.
Liddel dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Esteves. That did some damage!

Liddel lands with a kick to the temple. Esteves shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Esteves takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Raul Esteves's cut is getting worse.
Esteves misses with an attempted mid kick.
Esteves blocks a head kick by Liddel.
Liddel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Liddel feints a jab promting Esteves to slip. Liddel then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Esteves slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Esteves takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Esteves is breathing heavily.

Liddel lands a big head kick that sends Esteves tumbling to the mat! Liddel takes a step backwards and waves Esteves back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Liddel feints and then cracks Esteves's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Esteves down.
Liddel looks to score with a jab to the body but Esteves is just out of range.
Liddel works Esteves's body with a nice hook.

Liddel connects with a body shot that sends Esteves's belly button to the back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Liddel buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Liddel throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Liddel lands a nice looking body shot.
Esteves stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Liddel.
Esteves has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Liddel.
Liddel is looking to slow Esteves down with leg kicks.
Liddel throws a series of punches but Esteves avoids them all with ease.
Liddel lands a leg kick that knocks Esteves off balance momentarily.
Liddel fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Liddel thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Esteves if he has to take too many more of those.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Esteves moves forwards but Liddel connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Jeez, Raul Esteves's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
