The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mashego lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Iii at a distance.
Iii is looking to clinch but Mashego is avoiding it.
Sloppy strikes from Mashego. Those never looked like landing.
Mashego fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Iii manages to avoid it.
Mashego throws a lazy head kick

and Iii moves into the clinch.
Mashego could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mashego misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Mashego is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Mashego fails to pull guard.
Mashego misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Mashego tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Iii's elbow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mashego tries to stall but Iii uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Mashego has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Mashego tries to land a knee to the head but Iii blocks with his arms.
Mashego fails to pull guard.

Mashego jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Iii walks away with a smile on his face. Mashego gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mashego connects with a body shot that sends Iii's belly button to the back.

and Iii counters by moving into the clinch.
Mashego misses with a short punch on the inside.
Iii blocks an uppercut.
Mashego pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Iii using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mashego has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Iii looking to throw knees to the head but Mashego is blocking nicely.
Mashego trying to stall but Iii improves his position.
Iii jerks Mashego's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Mashego drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Iii goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Iii because Mashego was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
