The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgillivary thows a body shot but no joy.
Mcgillivary throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Diaz to counter with a crisp jab.
Mcgillivary misses with a double jab
and Diaz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Diaz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mcgillivary counters with a nice uppercut.

Mcgillivary misses with a jab, cross combination.
Diaz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mcgillivary counters with a three punch combo that has Diaz backing up. Diaz nods at Mcgillivary to acknowledge the strikes.

and Diaz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Mcgillivary swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Diaz counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Mcgillivary lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Diaz at a distance.
Diaz misses with a takedown attempt
and Mcgillivary counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathan Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
