PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rainbow Brite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brite kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rainbow Brite. Marcus Davis is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rainbow Brite!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Davis!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Brite connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Davis closes the distance but Brite moves to the side
letting Brite counter with a right hand.
Davis throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Davis throws a right and a left that both miss.
Davis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Davis shoots in for a takedown but Brite shows good takedown defense.
Davis looks to land a combination but Brite avoids it well.

Brite gets a clinch.
Brite misses with a knee strike.
Davis jumps guard but Brite stands there with Davis around his waist. Davis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Rainbow Brite has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Davis.
Davis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Brite walks away with a smile on his face. Davis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Davis.
Davis tries for a takedown but Brite circles away easily
and Brite counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Davis thinking.
Davis shoots in looking for a takedown but Brite manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Davis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Davis looks gassed!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brite turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Brite shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Davis eats them both and turns towards Brite to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.


It looks like Marcus Davis has been cut.
Rainbow Brite is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brite works the jab nicely.
Brite lands a nice shot that snaps Davis's head back.


Davis is rocked!
Davis tries for a takedown but Brite circles away easily
and Brite counters with a good low kick that Davis was not able to check.
Davis is still on wobbly legs! Can Brite finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A head kick by Brite - that's a beauty! Davis is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Brite can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Rainbow Brite!
