Herrera has chosen Yo Soy Dominicano as his entrance music. Hymie Herrera has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Micheal De Atrmus's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Micheal De Atrmus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hymie Herrera!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Joseph Jones and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Atrmus moves into the clinch.
Herrera scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Herrera breaks from the clinch.
Herrera scores with a three punch combo!

Herrera drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Herrera is trying to get an arm triangle but De Atrmus is defending well.
Herrera really doesn't want to stay on the ground with De Atrmus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Herrera decides to stand back up.
De Atrmus keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Herrera.
De Atrmus wants to clinch

and Herrera counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Herrera drops back, looking for a kneebar! De Atrmus looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. De Atrmus looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from De Atrmus!

De Atrmus is trying to get an arm triangle but Herrera is defending well.

Herrera is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

De Atrmus working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
De Atrmus creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
De Atrmus wants to control but Herrera is keeping him busy.
De Atrmus throws a strike aimed at the side of Herrera's head but Herrera avoids it well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
De Atrmus postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
De Atrmus lands some shots froms side control.
De Atrmus wants to take a breather but Herrera manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for De Atrmus.
Herrera is looking to stand up but De Atrmus isn't so interested in that idea.
Herrera pulls De Atrmus in close to his closed guard and prevents De Atrmus from doing any damage or advancing position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as De Atrmus accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

De Atrmus trying to control but Herrera is working from the bottom.
Herrera is trying to control the position but De Atrmus postures up.
De Atrmus might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Micheal De Atrmus.
De Atrmus slips a jab and a cross from Herrera.

so Herrera counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Herrera in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Herrera looks gassed!
Herrera wants to pass the guard but De Atrmus is keeping the position.

Herrera postures up in De Atrmus's guard and throws a big left but De Atrmus blocks it.

Herrera drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and De Atrmus dives on top into guard.
De Atrmus trying to control the position from guard on top but Herrera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hymie Herrera dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


De Atrmus fails in his attempt to clinch.
Micheal De Atrmus is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
De Atrmus lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
De Atrmus tries a head kick but it misses.
De Atrmus is looking to chop away at Herrera's legs.
De Atrmus closes the distance looking to clinch

and Herrera counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
De Atrmus manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Herrera is looking to improve his position but De Atrmus isn't that keen on the idea.

De Atrmus lands a big elbow.
Herrera is squirming around, avoiding De Atrmus's attempts to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
De Atrmus throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Herrera avoids a series of strikes thrown by De Atrmus.
De Atrmus throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Herrera because De Atrmus loaded up on that one.
De Atrmus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Herrera is trying desperately to improve position.
De Atrmus tries to control but Herrera wriggling away.

De Atrmus sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Herrera is squirming around, avoiding De Atrmus's attempts to control the action.
Herrera tries to hold on but De Atrmus pushes him away.
Herrera is breathing heavily.
De Atrmus thowing shots but they're missing.
De Atrmus can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Herrera is looking to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
You get the feeling that Herrera really doesn't like being in this position too much.

De Atrmus throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Herrera has his hands clasped together but De Atrmus breaks the hold and Herrera is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by De Atrmus!
