PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Datt Negah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ragip Nikita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nikita has chosen Spitfire by Prodigy as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Datt Negah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ragip Nikita!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nikita shoots in but no luck this time.
Nikita fails with a takedown attempt.

Datt Negah has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ragip Nikita.
Negah doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Nikita counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Nikita wants to pass to mount but Negah is defending the position.
Negah is trying to stand up here but Nikita is controlling him well.

Nikita is working for a kimura but Negah is defending it quite comfortably.
Negah is trying to get back to full guard.

Nikita is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Negah doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Nikita.

Nikita is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Negah fails to land the takedown.
Nikita fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Negah looks for a takedown but Nikita sprawls well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Negah has his takedown stuffed

and Nikita counters with a single leg into guard. Negah didn't expect that.

Nikita drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nikita jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Nikita stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Negah swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nikita tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nikita has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Nikita wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Negah, who protects the arm well.

Nikita tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Negah knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nikita on the ground.
Nikita advances nicely into full mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nikita is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Negah can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Nikita looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Negah defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Nikita.
Negah is desperately trying to improve his position but Nikita has a good base and remains in mount.

Nikita has control of Negah's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Negah regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Negah misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Nikita closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Negah to the mat! Negah manages to get full guard.
Nikita works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Nikita is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Nikita is looking for a kimura but Negah is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nikita to get the leverage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Negah pushes Nikita off looking to stand but Nikita dives back in and keeps control.

Nikita is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Negah is just riding it out for now. Nikita eventually gives up the hold.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Nikita has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Negah is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Nikita yanks on the arm and Negah is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Nikita.
