PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nate Kaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tj Lavin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Nate Kaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Tj Lavin!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaka misses with a takedown attempt
and Lavin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kaka fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kaka throws a nice looking combination but Lavin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kaka has his takedown stuffed
and Lavin counters with a stiff right hand.
Lavin on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Lavin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kaka sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kaka tries to grapple but his opponent circles

so Lavin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lavin drops back looking for a leg! Kaka is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kaka manages to kick Lavin off! Lavin jumps back into Kaka's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lavin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Lavin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lavin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kaka manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Lavin regains half guard.
Kaka wants to stand up but Lavin has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lavin looking for submissions off his back.

Lavin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kaka pulls his head out easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lavin has hold of Kaka's hands but Kaka slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Lavin looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Lavin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kaka pulls his head out easily.

Lavin looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Kaka throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Lavin looking for submissions off his back.
Kaka winds up and cracks Lavin with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Lavin has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Kaka. Oh but Lavin has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Kaka goes limp - he's gone! Lavin jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tj Lavin!
