Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sephiroth Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Art Vandelay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Art Vandelay acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sephiroth Cooper!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Art Vandelay!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vandelay tries to land a leg kick but Cooper saw it coming and moves away.
Vandelay looks to throw a body kick
and Cooper counters with a stiff right hand.
Vandelay throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Vandelay pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cooper looks for a takedown but Vandelay sprawls well.
A good leg kick by Vandelay.
Vandelay looks to land a body kick but Cooper moved away.
Vandelay misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Vandelay pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Vandelay is looking to land body kicks.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cooper.

Cooper fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vandelay avoids it really well and circles away.

Cooper closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Vandelay leaves Cooper with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Vandelay pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Vandelay connects with a high kick.
Cooper shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vandelay as he jumps to the side.

Cooper shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Vandelay fakes the leg kick and cracks Cooper in the body.
Cooper takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Cooper on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Vandelay. Vandelay obviously looking to wear him down.
Cooper is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cooper moves out of range as Vandelay throws a body kick.
Vandelay is looking to land body kicks.

A slapping body kick lands there for Vandelay.
Vandelay connects with a solid leg kick.
Vandelay pushes Cooper away with a front kick.
Vandelay throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Cooper.

Vandelay lands a high kick to the side of Cooper's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Vandelay dives into guard, looking to finish.


Cooper is rocked!

Vandelay gets to his feet. Cooper looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Oh Cooper is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vandelay scores with a kick to the midsection.

Cooper takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Cooper seems to have got his legs back now.
Vandelay goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Vandelay.
Vandelay misses with a kick to the body.
Vandelay tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Art Vandelay is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A head kick misses from Vandelay.
Vandelay throws a low kick, looking for Cooper's leg but Cooper calmly moves out of range.
Vandelay goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Vandelay throws a half hearted mid kick.
Vandelay throws a head kick that misses.
Cooper fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vandelay avoids it really well and circles away.

Vandelay moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Art Vandelay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vandelay throws a sloppy head kick and Cooper moves out of range easily.

Nice sprawl there from Vandelay as Cooper shoots in.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Cooper shoots in for a takedown but Vandelay shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cooper throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vandelay's waist but Vandelay gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cooper off to one side.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cooper is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Vandelay to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Vandelay shrugs it off.

Cooper jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Vandelay manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Vandelay sneaks out the side door and pushes Cooper away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Cooper will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Cooper closes the distance and clinches up with Vandelay, looking for a takedown. Cooper pushes Vandelay against the cage but Vandelay circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Vandelay tries to land a front kick but Cooper steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Cooper changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vandelay looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Cooper shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vandelay sprawls well. Vandelay wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cooper gets slowly back to his feet.

Vandelay takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Vandelay lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Cooper has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Cooper and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Vandelay fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cooper has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cooper is defended easily by Vandelay.

and Cooper decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Vandelay's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vandelay wants to stand but Cooper is controlling the position.
Sephiroth Cooper overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Cooper thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Vandelay manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Vandelay stuffs the takedown attempt from Cooper. Cooper gets slowly back to his feet.
Vandelay throws a lazy body kick

and Cooper counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Vandelay!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cooper has control of Vandelay's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Vandelay regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Vandelay tries to buck Cooper off but he can't manage it.

Cooper pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cooper is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Vandelay can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sephiroth Cooper.
I think Cooper has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
