PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Allegro Halme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler DeGraaf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halme throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Halme looks to land a combination but DeGraaf avoids it well.
Halme swinging wildly here.
Halme misses with a double jab.
DeGraaf throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Halme's waist but Halme gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing DeGraaf off to one side.
DeGraaf shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

DeGraaf shoots in looking for a takedown but Halme manages to keep the fight standing, pushing DeGraaf's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Halme goes for a takedown attempt but DeGraaf pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

DeGraaf gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
DeGraaf takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
DeGraaf seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Halme does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
DeGraaf thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Halme to regain full guard.

DeGraaf has his foot on Halme's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Halme works his way back into a safe position though.

Halme not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
DeGraaf trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
DeGraaf wants to get back to his feet but Halme is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
DeGraaf wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Allegro Halme.

Halme throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent DeGraaf stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

DeGraaf throwing strikes but Halme manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
The referee asks Halme politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Halme prefers to stall for the moment though.
Halme knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for DeGraaf on the ground.

We're going to have a standup here because Allegro Halme wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Halme fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Halme works over DeGraaf's head and body with a nice combination.
A punch lands to the side of DeGraaf 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Halme lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but DeGraaf circles away quickly and effectively.
Halme throws a nice looking combination but DeGraaf bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Halme.
Halme rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but DeGraaf moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Halme cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Halme lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

and Halme counters with a left and a right that stings DeGraaf.
Halme throws a series of punches but DeGraaf avoids them all with ease.

Halme darts in and clinches DeGraaf up against the cage.

Halme breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Halme smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Halme tries to bum rush DeGraaf with a series of wild strikes but DeGraaf uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Halme lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as DeGraaf backs up against the cage.

DeGraaf tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Halme just stands there and leans against the cage.

Halme lands with a nice combination. DeGraaf backs away looking to recover.

Halme gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
DeGraaf is in close to Halme's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Halme is squirming around, avoiding DeGraaf's attempts to control the action.

DeGraaf misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

DeGraaf decides to stand up, so the ref orders Halme to his feet.
DeGraaf has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Halme finds it's way round the side to connect with DeGraaf's head.
Halme swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Halme misses with a jab, cross combination.

Halme closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Halme is trying to break free.
DeGraaf goes for a takedown in the clinch but Halme prevents it.
Halme is trying to force a seperation but DeGraaf has the dominant position.

DeGraaf keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Halme's efforts to push away.
DeGraaf jumps guard but Halme stands there with DeGraaf around his waist. DeGraaf gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Halme rushes DeGraaf and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Halme comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Halme pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Halme lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Halme digs a good body shot into DeGraaf's ribs.
A right-left combo lands from Halme.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Allegro Halme.
I think Halme has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
