PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Rogue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Good (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Good comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Undead kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Good decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Good thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rogue's head.
Rogue tries to kick Good off but Good keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Good really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rogue. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Good missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Good wants to take a breather but Rogue is having none of it.
Rogue punching from the bottom.
Good trying to pass the guard but Rogue defending well.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Good lands a nice short elbow.
Rogue tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Good manages to capitalize on a mistake by Rogue to take his back!
Rogue has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Rogue is really stuck here.

Good looking for the choke but no joy.
Good is working the ground and pound. Can Rogue escape?
Good tries to get the hooks in deep but Rogue pushed the leg off.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rogue wants to get back to his feet.
Rogue is breathing heavily.

Good looking for the choke from the back.
Rogue turns into Good and is now in his guard.
Rogue will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rogue wants to control from the top but Good keeps moving.

Rogue gets to his feet. Good looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Rogue gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Good counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Good.
Rogue wants to sweep but no luck.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Good avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Good wants to pass the guard but Rogue is keeping the position.

Good bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rogue's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Good must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rogue is on top in guard.
Rogue slips nicely into half guard.
Good wants to improve his position but Rogue is controlling well.
Rogue passes the guard and advances to mount!
Good tries to hold on but Rogue postures up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Good in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Good keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
