The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souto takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Gumatay misses with a shot to the body
and Souto cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Souto shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Gumatay counters by clinching up.

Souto turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Souto manages to end up in side control.

Souto is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gumatay is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Gumatay is trying to buck Souto off.

Souto is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gumatay knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Souto tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Souto has an Americana. Gumatay didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Souto is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Souto hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
