The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Left hook, right uppercut from Oak.
Oak has taken the fight to the clinch.
Oak tries to break the clinch but Hermans is controlling the position.
Hermans breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hermans really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Oak goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Hermans turns into him and now he's in Oak's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oak is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Oak throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hermans keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Hermans is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Oak's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Oak's back!
Will Hermans go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Oak falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hermans counters with a head kick. That will keep Oak thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Hermans has managed to clinch.
Hermans misses with a hook to the ribs.

A frustrated look appears on Hermans's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Hermans breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Oak tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Oak shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hermans eats them both and turns towards Oak to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Oak lands a two punch combo.
Oak tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hermans paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hermans moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Hermans shoots in looking for a takedown but Oak manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hermans's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gary Oak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oak throws a combination that misses
and Hermans finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Hermans counters by clinching up.
Hermans has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Oak avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hermans is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Oak is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
