Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dixon Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jutta Urpilainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jutta Urpilainen!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Urpilainen tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Cox counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Urpilainen shoots in and bounces Cox off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Cox escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Urpilainen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Urpilainen trying to control the position from guard on top but Cox is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cox is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cox can't keep his opponent in guard - Urpilainen advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Urpilainen is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cox trying to hold on to Urpilainen's head to control him but Urpilainen postures up.

Urpilainen is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Cox looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Urpilainen with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Cox is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Urpilainen pulls his head out easily.
Urpilainen slips a nice elbow through Cox's hands, connecting with Cox's forehead.
Urpilainen is pressing down on Cox's thigh, looking to free his foot. Cox is holding on for now.
Cox has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Urpilainen is working away from the top position though.
Urpilainen landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Urpilainen is trying for a kimura here. Cox looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Urpilainen wins by kimura!
