Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nauj Zerep!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dan Machida!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Nice sprawl there from Machida as Zerep shoots in.
Machida throws a head kick that misses.
Some wild striking there from Zerep.
A thudding body kick lands there by Machida!
Zerep will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Zerep will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Machida misses with a body shot.
Machida throws a push kick but Zerep slaps the foot to one side.
Machida avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Nice body kick there by Machida.
Machida delivers a nice body kick.
A swing and a miss from Zerep.
Machida throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Zerep throws out a loose jab but Machida uses good head movement to avoid it.
Machida misses with a body shot.
Good leg kick by Machida there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Machida misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Machida lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Machida doesn't manage to clinch there - Zerep circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Zerep swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Zerep moves out of range of the body kick.
Machida bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Zerep lands a jab to the head.
Machida shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Machida was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Zerep sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The fighters are battling for position here. Zerep manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Zerep wants to sweep here but Machida controlling him for the moment.
Zerep has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Machida should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Zerep has tightened it up now! Machida should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
