Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Flaubert Canto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Torres has chosen Iron Maiden - The Trooper as his entrance music. Flaubert Canto could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Vitor Torres's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Flaubert Canto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vitor Torres!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres misses with a double jab.
Canto goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Torres drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Torres working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Canto tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Torres trying to control the position from guard on top but Canto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Canto has momentary wrist control but Torres slips an elbow through the middle.
Torres postures up in Canto's guard and throws a big left but Canto blocks it.
Torres would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Canto is on top in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Canto distracts Torres with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Torres wants to sweep here but Canto controlling him for the moment.
Canto stands and throws Torres's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Canto grinds an elbow into Torres's temple.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Canto is working Torres over with some ground and pound from side control.
Torres is working to avoid the ground and pound but Canto connects with a decent elbow.
Torres manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Canto takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Torres trying to control but Canto postures up.
Torres is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Torres is trying to maintain the position but Canto is very close to passing his half guard.
Torres wants to get back to full guard.
Canto is thwarting Torres's attempts to control the position.
Canto lands strikes from half guard.
Canto trying to control the pace.
Torres tries to roll over but Canto keeps him under control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Canto lands with a punch from half guard.
Torres wants to get back to full guard.
Canto looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Torres with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Torres taking some punishment here, with Canto in his half guard.
Torres wants to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Flaubert Canto dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Canto closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Canto lands in his opponent's guard.
Canto working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Torres's head.

Torres is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Canto defends well.
Canto is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Canto trying to control the position from guard on top but Torres is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Torres wants to hit a switch here but Canto passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Torres there!
Flaubert Canto overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Canto cracks Torres with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Torres is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Canto cracks Torres with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Flaubert Canto!
