PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Adam Strange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and ODarius Wilkes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Strange's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Adam Strange - Traveller. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Adam Strange!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Wilkes or perhaps it was just good defense by Strange which made him look bad.
Wilkes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Strange tries to avoid it but Wilkes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Strange to the ground. Strange escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Strange could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Strange tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Strange drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Strange is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wilkes has escaped the position, nice work there.
Wilkes is trying to escape the position but Strange is controlling the position.
Wilkes is trying to get back to half guard.

Strange is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wilkes knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Wilkes is trying to improve his position.
Wilkes sneaks back into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wilkes is looking for a sweep. Strange is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Strange stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Wilkes to get to his feet.
Wilkes uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Strange.
Wilkes swats away the attempt to clinch by Strange.
Wilkes shoots and misses

and Strange counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Adam Strange has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of ODarius Wilkes.
Strange moves into full mount! Wilkes won't be happy about that!
Strange landing strikes from the mount.
Strange blocks Wilkes's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Wilkes is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Strange locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Wilkes is forced to tap!
