PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Grisha Kamenov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Boyka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kamenov comes to the cage accompanied by Linkin Park - Bleed it Out. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Sano and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kamenov's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Boyka connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kamenov scrambles back to his feet.
Boyka stuffs the takedown attempt from Kamenov. Kamenov gets slowly back to his feet.
Kamenov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boyka tries to avoid it but Kamenov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boyka to the ground. Boyka escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Kamenov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Grisha Kamenov just wasn't active enough.
Horrible takedown by Kamenov or perhaps it was just good defense by Boyka which made him look bad.

Boyka creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Kamenov is trying to drag Boyka to the mat but Boyka just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kamenov has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Nice uppercut lands for Boyka. That snapped Kamenov's head back.
Kamenov on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Kamenov avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Boyka has had enough of the clinch but Kamenov keeps him there for the moment.

Boyka wants the takedown. Kamenov is fighting it off but Boyka persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kamenov's guard against the cage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Boyka feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kamenovs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Well Boyka has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
