Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Carthew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cohen Maloney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carthew comes into the arena with Straight out of Compton blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maloney gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Maloney wants to work for an arm triangle but Carthew is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Maloney connects with a nice short shot to Carthew's temple.

Maloney is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carthew is just riding it out for now. Maloney eventually gives up the hold.

Maloney is working for a guillotine from mount but Carthew frees his head quite easily.

Maloney swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Carthew is now in Maloney's guard. A big mistake from Maloney there, giving up the dominant position!
Carthew tries to stand but Maloney is controlling from the bottom.

Maloney manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Carthew manages to get himself to full guard.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Maloney's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Maloney is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Carthew is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Carthew has escaped and now he's on top!

Maloney escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carthew gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carthew accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Maloney had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Carthew defends it easily.

Maloney escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carthew gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Maloney counters with a shoot takedown. Carthew fights it but they end up in guard.

Carthew wants to get up but he can't break Maloney's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Maloney has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Carthew should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Maloney has tightened it up now! Carthew should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
