Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Phillip Vegg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenji Jones!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Taro Takaoka and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones tries for a takedown but Vegg circles away easily
and Vegg counters with a straight right hand.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Vegg, right into the meat.
Vegg falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jones counters with a left to the body.
Jones misses with the combination.

and Vegg counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

and Vegg counters with an outside leg kick.

Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vegg swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vegg sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat.

Jones shoots in but Vegg avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jones throws a head kick that misses
and Vegg counters with a three punch combo that has Jones backing up. Jones nods at Vegg to acknowledge the strikes.
Jones swings for the body but Vegg moves out of range.
Vegg throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jones punishes Vegg's body with a nice straight punch.
Jones lands with a nice combination. Vegg backs away looking to recover.
Jones misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Jones pushes Vegg up against the cage in a clinch.

Jones successfully pulls guard.

Jones kicks Vegg off and gets to his feet.

and Vegg counters with an inside leg kick.
Jones is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Vegg rather than just go for the knockout.

and Jones counters with a nice uppercut.

Jones shoots in and drives through. Vegg sprawls well.

Jones throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Vegg sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Kenji Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Vegg feints a jab promting Jones to slip. Vegg then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jones slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jones moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Vegg stuffs the takedown.

And that's the end of the fight!
Phillip Vegg showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Jones has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
