PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maoto Lychida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohammed Unsui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Maoto Lychida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mohammed Unsui!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Lychida wants a takedown but no success here.

Unsui is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Unsui is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lychida drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Unsui dives on top into guard.

Lychida is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Unsui is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lychida sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Unsui is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Unsui blocks a head kick by Lychida.
Lychida tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Unsui paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lychida throws a body kick that misses.
Lychida takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Unsui closes the distance and pushes Lychida back into the cage.
Lychida manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Unsui is trying to push Lychida away but Lychida has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Lychida lands a knee to the body.
Lychida misses with a knee strike.
Unsui is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Unsui tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Maoto Lychida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mohammed Unsui.

That was a close second round but I would say that Maoto Lychida will probably get the nod.

Maoto Lychida showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lychida, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
