PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Mcdermott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randall Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcdermott kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is david hasselhoff jump in my car. Austin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Fort Minor - Remember the name kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin throws a head kick but Mcdermott moves out of range.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Austin crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mcdermott - the referee stops the clock and Austin gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mcdermott. Austin manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Austin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Austin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mcdermott swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mcdermott fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Austin avoids it really well and circles away.

Austin rushes Mcdermott and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Austin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Mcdermott counters with a nice low kick that buckles Austin's knee momentarily.

Randall Austin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Mcdermott throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Randall Austin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Austin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
