The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ya Xu scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cordoza taking a bit of punishment here - Ya Xu scoring with strikes.
Cordoza tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ya Xu wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Ya Xu tries to advance to mount but Cordoza denies him.
A lull in the action here as Ya Xu stalls from top position.
Cordoza is looking to reverse the position.

Ya Xu lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Cordoza tries to bench press Ya Xu off him but Ya Xu keeps the position.
Cordoza takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

A big shot lands for Ya Xu! That's hurt Cordoza! Will he recover? Ya Xu fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
