Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jim Bo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blippy Janks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Bo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Blippy Janks!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bo throws a right and a left that Janks avoids nicely.

Bo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Janks to the mat! Janks manages to get full guard.

Bo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Bo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Bo with a lazy takedown attempt
and Janks counters with a stiff right hand.
Bo throws a solid leg kick but Janks takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bo.

A bone on bone clash there as Janks blocks the leg kick.

A big right from Janks misses.
A right-left combo lands from Janks.

Janks closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Bo dodges the ground and pound from Janks.
Bo is trying to get back to half guard.
Bo is working hard here to advance position.

Janks looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Janks working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Janks wants to control but Bo is keeping him busy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Janks looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bo is one step ahead there.
Bo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bo tries to free his leg and advance position but Janks is retaining full guard.

Bo misses with a takedown attempt
and Janks counters with a nice uppercut.
Bo throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Janks misses with a body shot.
Jim Bo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Janks avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Blippy Janks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A nice combination there by Janks.
Bo tries for a takedown but Janks circles away easily
and Janks counters with a two punch combo.

Janks shoots in and gets a takedown into Bo's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Janks wants to control from the top but Bo keeps moving.
Bo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Janks manages to get himself to full guard.

Janks working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Janks had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bo defends it easily.
Bo works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Bo wants to control but Janks is keeping him busy.
Janks throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Janks moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Bo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Janks has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bo has managed to get both his arms back between Janks's legs - danger averted.
Bo won't allow Janks to sweep him here.

Janks looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bo stays in close to Janks's body and controls the position.
Bo stopping the sweep attempt from Janks.
Bo controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Janks keeping full guard, as Bo tries to pass.

Janks is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bo is aware though and is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Blippy Janks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Bo misses with a hook
and Janks counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Bo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Janks to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Janks working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Janks drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bo dives on top into guard.
Janks keeping moving, preventing Bo from controlling successfully.

Bo wants to free his trapped foot but Janks is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Janks slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Janks throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bo escapes and throws Janks's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Janks is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
You can see the frustration on Janks's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Janks manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Bo looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Bo is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Janks is not content to let Bo control the position.
Blippy Janks has got the better of the ground game so far.

Janks is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bo pulls his head out easily.
Janks tries to roll over but Bo keeps him under control.
Janks works his way to full guard. Good work.
Janks looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Bo trying to control the position from guard on top but Janks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Janks has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Janks.
Janks takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Janks is looking for a sweep.
Jim Bo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Janks is not content to let Bo control the position.
The referee asks Bo politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bo prefers to stall for the moment though.
Blippy Janks is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Janks is looking for a sweep.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jim Bo.
Well Janks has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
