Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rolls Royce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kosuke Soseki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rolls Royce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kosuke Soseki!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Hirohito Nitta and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soseki misses with a hook
and Royce counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Soseki tries to land knees in the clinch but Royce avoids the damage to the body.

Soseki is fighting off a takedown attempt but Royce is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Soseki to the mat. Soseki regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Soseki can do anything to dispel that myth.

Soseki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Royce. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Royce uses his free foot to push down on Soseki's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Soseki.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
You get the feeling that Soseki really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Kosuke Soseki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rolls Royce showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Royce, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
