The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Seu Braga and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reis with a poor takedown
and Machida counters with a stiff right hand.
Reis has his takedown stuffed
and Machida counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Machida closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Reis did well to prevent Machida getting side control.
Reis looking for submissions off his back.
Machida seems to be looking for submissions.
Machida throwing shots but Reis is blocking nicely.
Reis looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Machida is looking to take a break and control but Reis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Machida has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Reis tries to reverse the position but Machida maintains control.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Machida cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Reis regains half guard.
Reis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Machida.
Reis is not content to let Machida control the position.
Reis is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Machida scores with a couple of nice shots.
Machida thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Reis's head.
Reis is defending against the submission attempts here by Machida.
Reis won't allow Machida to pass to mount.
Machida seems to be working for a kimura but Reis defends the submission attempt.
Machida not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Reis keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Machida trying to control from half guard but Reis is working away.
Reis won't allow Machida to pass to mount.
Machida thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Machida takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Reis looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Reis moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Reis looks gassed!
Machida cracks Reis with a solid left hand.
Machida postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Reis has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Machida doesn't defend quickly enough and Reis has managed to lock this one up! Can Machida escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Reis on a fantastic submission victory.
