Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Merdarus Goone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashid Magomedov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Magomedov gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Goone lands an elbow just above Magomedov 's eye.

Magomedov jumps into guard, dragging Goone to the mat.
Goone wants to stand and escape but instead Magomedov has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Goone is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Magomedov is controlling him.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Rashid Magomedov hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Magomedov stands up and beckons Goone to join him on the feet.

Magomedov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Goone knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Magomedov on the ground.

Goone gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Goone is wriggling around but Magomedov manages to pass to half guard.
Magomedov takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Magomedov decides to stand up.

Magomedov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Goone manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Goone wants to stand and escape but Magomedov is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Goone is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Magomedov is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Goone can't fight it off and eventually Magomedov manages to take the fight to the floor. Goone looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Magomedov has closed the distance and engaged Goone in a clinch.
Goone is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Magomedov is defending well for now.

Magomedov has hold of Goone's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Goone manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Goone has left one of his arms exposed and Magomedov doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Goone screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
