Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kunichiwa Japan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yakiniku Wakamatsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kunichiwa Japan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yakiniku Wakamatsu!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Japan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wakamatsu manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Wakamatsu wriggles free and stands up.

Japan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Wakamatsu pushes Japan away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Japan gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Japan swings around for an armbar but Wakamatsu sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Japan's guard.

Wakamatsu has gone for a leg lock! Japan slips out almost immediately though and dives into Wakamatsu's guard.
Wakamatsu is looking to stand up but Japan isn't so interested in that idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Japan stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Japan throws a combination that misses
and Wakamatsu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


It looks like Kunichiwa Japan has been cut.
Japan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Japan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wakamatsu throws a sloppy head kick and Japan moves out of range easily.
Japan dodges the punch combination from Wakamatsu.
Wakamatsu looks gassed!

Wakamatsu gets the takedown into side control.

Wakamatsu goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Japan has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Wakamatsu but great work by Japan.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Japan has an Americana. Wakamatsu didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Japan is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Japan hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Kunichiwa Japan!
