Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joey Silvera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sadji Nosla!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nosla throws a sloppy head kick and Silvera moves out of range easily.
Silvera dodges the punch combination from Nosla.

Silvera closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nosla to the mat! Nosla manages to get full guard.
Nosla is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Silvera tries to free his leg and advance position but Nosla is retaining full guard.
Silvera is in close to Nosla's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Silvera looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Silvera might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Nosla utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Silvera throwing strikes from guard but Nosla blocks nicely.
Nosla really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silvera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nosla wants to stand but Silvera is controlling the position.

Silvera landing some decent shots from guard.
Nosla wants to stand up but Silvera is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silvera postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Silvera pushes down on Nosla's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Silvera in particular looking to stall.
Nosla is not content to let Silvera control the position.
Silvera has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Silvera working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Silvera stops Nosla from getting back to his feet.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Nosla is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Silvera scores with a couple of nice shots.
Silvera thows a huge punch but Nosla dodges it nicely.
Nosla looks like he's trying to stand up.
Nosla avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Silvera.

Silvera missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nosla fails with an attempt to clinch.
Silvera misses with a two punch combination.
Silvera throws a jab but it's blocked by Nosla.

Nosla tries to keep at a distance but Silvera has taken the fight into the clinch.
Silvera lands a left hand.
Silvera is breathing heavily.
Silvera makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Silvera avoiding damage.

Silvera manages to break the clinch.
Nosla throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Silvera.
Nosla lands with a hook. Silvera tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Sadji Nosla seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nosla gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Nosla is trying to control the position but Silvera postures up.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Silvera sitting in guard here, content to control.
Nosla avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Silvera pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nosla is keeping the position for now.

Silvera connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Nosla some visible discomfort.

Nosla wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
A lull in the action here.
Nosla tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Nosla is trying to break free.

Silvera punishes Nosla with strikes from the back mount.


Nosla is rocked!
Silvera connects with a couple of big shots that have Nosla covering up! Oh, this looks bad for Nosla! Silvera fires away with several more unanswered shots and the referee has no choice but to step in! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joey Silvera!
