Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Link Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Fabiski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucas Fabiski will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Link Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Lucas Fabiski!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Diaz moves into the clinch.
Diaz wants a takedown but no success here.
Fabiski is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Diaz is defending well for now.

Diaz manages to break the clinch.
Fabiski shoots and misses

and Diaz counters by clinching up.

Fabiski gets underhooks to prevent Diaz's takedown attempt.
Diaz goes for a takedown in the clinch but Fabiski prevents it.

Fabiski has Diaz pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Diaz manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fabiski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diaz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Fabiski prevents Diaz from getting back to his feet.

Fabiski is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fabiski wants to get up but he can't break Diaz's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lucas Fabiski was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Diaz scores with a head kick.
Fabiski fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Diaz avoids it really well and circles away.

Fabiski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Fabiski blocks a head kick by Diaz.
Fabiski fails with a takedown attempt.
Diaz connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fabiski tries to clinch

and Diaz moves into the clinch.
Diaz tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Fabiski just stands there and leans against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Diaz jumps into guard, dragging Fabiski to the mat.
Fabiski wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving.
Diaz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fabiski on the ground.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Lucas Fabiski wasn't active enough on the ground.
Diaz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Diaz wants it to stay on the feet.
Fabiski shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Diaz but Diaz pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Fabiski tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Diaz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Diaz defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fabiski.
Horrible takedown by Fabiski or perhaps it was just good defense by Diaz which made him look bad.
No joy there for Fabiski, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Diaz gets in close and instigates a clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fabiski has a takedown stuffed.

Diaz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Fabiski to the mat! Fabiski manages to get full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fabiski is on top in guard.

Diaz on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Diaz tries to get out of the position.
Diaz has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Fabiski has passed into side control.

Fabiski wants to lay and pray for a moment but Diaz keeps working.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Fabiski goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Fabiski fails with a takedown attempt.
Diaz dives in and grabs Fabiski's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fabiski pushes down on Diaz's head and hops out.

Diaz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fabiski looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fabiski is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Diaz has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Diaz has knee on belly momentarily but Fabiski bucks him off and regains half guard.

Fabiski wants to stand and escape but Diaz is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fabiski manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Diaz is in a horrible position here. Fabiski smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Fabiski throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Diaz because Fabiski loaded up on that one.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Fabiski is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Diaz to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Diaz shrugs it off.
Fabiski wants to control the pace but Diaz is squirming around nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Lucas Fabiski.
Well Diaz has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
