Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shinichi Fuujin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Alb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fuujin's entrance music is Soilwork - Rejection Role. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Alb's choice of entrance music: What Mama Said . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryan Alb!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuujin tries a low kick but Alb avoids it.
Fuujin wants to clinch up but Alb keeps it at a distance.
Alb ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Alb fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Fuujin scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Alb dives in and grabs Fuujin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fuujin pushes down on Alb's head and hops out.
Shinichi Fuujin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Alb.

Alb takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Alb breaks Fuujin's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alb drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Fuujin dives on top into guard.

Alb is looking for a triangle but Fuujin pushes his legs off easily.

Alb got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fuujin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Alb has managed to get both his arms back between Fuujin's legs - danger averted.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alb accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That was a close round but I would say that Shinichi Fuujin will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Fuujin lands with a cross.
Alb just misses with a punch to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alb is defended easily by Fuujin.
Fuujin tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Alb counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Fuujin tries to close the distance and clinch but Alb swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Fuujin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Alb moves away.
Shinichi Fuujin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alb is trying to escape the mount but Fuujin keeps good control and instead manages to take Alb's back.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Fuujin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Fuujin is trying to stick to Alb's back but Alb is turning into Fuujin. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Fuujin's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Alb.

Alb drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alb jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well Fuujin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
