Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Lekova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yamato Hiroshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hiroshi is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Subconscious. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiroshi wants to clinch
and Lekova counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hiroshi enables Lekova to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hiroshi manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Lekova fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hiroshi sprawls well initially but Lekova persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Lekova shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hiroshi's guard.

Lekova looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hiroshi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Lekova is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hiroshi defends it well.

Lekova swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hiroshi is now in Lekova's guard. A big mistake from Lekova there, giving up the dominant position!

Lekova has his foot on Hiroshi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hiroshi works his way back into a safe position though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lekova closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hiroshi did well to prevent Lekova getting side control.

Lekova is taking a breather. Hiroshi says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Lekova's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
