Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Takeshi Kusimuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Nut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kusimuki's entrance music is National Anthem Of Japan. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Takeshi Kusimuki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sam Nut!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksandr Martynov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kusimuki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nut was well out of range. Poor timing from Kusimuki.

Kusimuki tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Nut goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Nut moves into range and clinches up with Kusimuki.

Nut pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Kusimuki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Kusimuki pushes Nut back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Kusimuki manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Nut is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kusimuki is defending well for now.

Nut tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kusimuki manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Kusimuki throws a good cross that connects.

Nut misses with a head kick.
Kusimuki jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Nut is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kusimuki.

Nut moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Nut throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Takeshi Kusimuki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kusimuki dives in and grabs Nut's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nut pushes down on Kusimuki's head and hops out.

Kusimuki lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Nut fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nut ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A close round but Sam Nut will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kusimuki is on top in guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fight stays on the outside here - Nut looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Nut finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Kusimuki's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Nut connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kusimuki scrambles back to his feet.
Kusimuki fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Nut looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nut tries to land a front kick but Kusimuki steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Nut walks into a straight right hand from Kusimuki.
Nut wants to clinch up but Kusimuki keeps it at a distance.
Nut takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Nut enables Kusimuki to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nut manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Kusimuki slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Nut is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kusimuki is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Takeshi Kusimuki.
Nut pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Kusimuki throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

And that's the end of the fight!
Takeshi Kusimuki showed his dominance in that final round.
