The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Gracie. Mayfield does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mayfield closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gracie quickly recovers to half guard.
Gracie is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mayfield missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Gracie is in trouble now - Mayfield has advanced to mount!

Gracie sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Mayfield is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Mayfield extends the arm and Gracie is forced to tap!
