Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Boxing Comte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Average (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Comte comes into the arena with Laser life by Blood Brothers blaring out of the sound system. Joe Average told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Average.
Comte throws a body punch but Average moves out of range.
Comte throws a right hand that misses

and Average decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Comte's guard.
Average pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Comte is keeping the position for now.
Average seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Average swings around for an armbar but Comte sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Average's guard.

Average is pulling down on Comte's head to control his posture.

Let's hope that Average has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Average is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Comte is surviving well by controlling Average's body position as best he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Average has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Comte has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Joe Average showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Average looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Comte rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Average counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Average lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Comte misses with a right hand
and Average counters with a stiff right hand.
Average takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Average fails with a takedown attempt.

Average dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Comte walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Average checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Boxing Comte has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
