Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carwin avoids the head kick by Silva.

Silva knocks Carwin to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?

It looks like Shane Carwin has been cut.
Carwin is looking for a sweep.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Silva working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Silva tries for a kimura but Carwin is defending well.

Silva decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Silva lands a nice looking body kick.
Carwin scores with a nice strike.
Carwin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Silva.
Carwin digs a good body shot into Silva's ribs.
Silva on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Carwin takes a kick to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Carwin crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Silva - the referee stops the clock and Carwin gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Silva. Carwin manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Carwin looks gassed!
Silva throws a head kick that Carwin semi-blocks.
Silva goes for a small jab and connects. Now Silva goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Carwin stumbles back but Silva runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Carwin to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Carwin will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Thiago Silva!
