Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Soldier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Gaines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaines stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Soldier.
Gaines misses with a hook. Soldier ducked under it nicely.
Gaines swings away with a body shot that misses

and Soldier counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Soldier.
Gaines wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Gaines takes an elbow to the forehead.

That has opened up Kevin Gaines's cut even more.
Soldier lands an elbow inside.
Soldier gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

The cut above Kevin Gaines's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Soldier crunches a lovely knee into Gaines's ribcage.
Gaines looks gassed!

Soldier escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gaines tries to clinch

and Soldier holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Soldier blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Soldier lands a knee to the head.

Kevin Gaines's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Soldier pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Soldier lands a leg kick that knocks Gaines off balance momentarily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kevin Gaines's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
