Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hawaiian Assassin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marucio Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marucio Machida has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Hawaiian Assassin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hawaiian Assassin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marucio Machida!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Assassin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Machida's half guard.
Assassin winds up and cracks Machida with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Machida has one foot on Assassin's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Machida shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Assassin napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Assassin is looking for a sweep.

Machida decides to stand back up.
Assassin has his takedown stuffed

and Machida counters with a nice double leg into side control. Assassin won't be happy with that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Machida decides to stand back up.

Machida throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Assassin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Machida is in Assassin's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Assassin working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Machida has passed into half guard!
Machida is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Assassin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Machida seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Assassin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Machida defends well.

Machida got a little sloppy there for a moment and Assassin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Machida has managed to get both his arms back between Assassin's legs - danger averted.

Machida avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Assassin is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Machida frees his head nicely. Oh but Assassin has switched to an armbar! Machida is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
